SOLDIERS have been put on standby for deployment to Minneapolis as anti-ICE protests continue to rock the city, a defence official has said.
Around 1,500 troops that are currently stationed in Alaska are available to be sent into Minneapolis, Minnesota, if called for by President Donald Trump.

The defence official said that no decision has been made on sending active duty military personnel to the city, according to multiple reports .
It comes after Trump threatened to to stop what he called “professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking patriots of ICE.”
