Cristiano Ronaldo shared a message with his fans after he played in Al Nassr team’s tough 3-2 victory against Al-Shabab.
The Knights of Najd ended their three-game losing streak by winning narrowly in front of their fans in Riyadh on Saturday.
Cristiano Ronaldo played the entire 90 minutes for his team, unlike the previous game where he was substituted during the loss to Al-Hilal.
He was happy with how the match turned out and shared a message on his social media saying he was proud of his team’s play and thanked the fans for their support.
“Proud of this team. We did what we needed to do. He thanked the fans for their support all the way,” he wrote on Instagram.
Cristiano Ronaldo started the match against Al-Shabab in good shape, having scored goals in all of his previous five games for his team.
This happened even though his team did not win any of the last four games, including a draw against Al-Ettifaq and losses to Al-Ahli, Al-Qadsiah, and Al-Hilal.
The 40-year-old did not make a big impact for Al-Nassr in their win against Al-Shabab, with only 38 touches of the ball, which was the fewest among all players who played the full 90 minutes.
The Portugal player tried three shots and missed one important chance, to add to his 15 league goals this season.
Jorge Jesus’s team won, which moved them back to second place in the standings, beating Al-Ahli on goal difference. Al-Shabab issued an official statement criticizing the referees after their loss to Al-Nassr, the team that includes Cristiano Ronaldo.
