Coalition: Yobe Gov’s Senior Special Assistant resigns from APC, joins ADC

A Senior Special Assistant to Governor, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, Babagana Yakubu Mohammed has resigned from his position.

Babagana also resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress and joined the African Democratic Congress, ADC, a party recently adopted by opposition leaders ahead of 2027 general elections.

His resignation was announced in a letter addressed to the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Baba Malam Wali.

In the letter obtained by journalists on Sunday, Babagana expressed frustration over what he described as the abandonment of dedicated party loyalists, especially those who worked at the grassroots to secure victory for the APC.

“Accept this as my formal resignation as the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Buni, effective immediately.

“I have come to realise that my efforts and contributions to the party at the grassroots level have been grossly overlooked.

“Despite my unwavering loyalty and dedication, I have been deliberately sidelined by the party leadership at both the local government and state levels,”; the letter read in part.
