While it may seem like an exclusive and private domain for the affluent and famous, the high-end dating app Raya can lead to a harsh and disheartening experience.
Celebrities such as Jude Bellingham, Jack Grealish, Maura Higgins, and Tasha Ghouri have all been members at some point.

However, only a small fraction of applicants are approved by a secret committee that determines whether the singles are glamorous, successful, or wealthy enough to gain access.
Today, a member, a 35-year-old air stewardess from London, shares her genuine experience as a member.
She acknowledges that while the app may feature some of the most desirable men in the country, they can still make a woman feel “used” and often ghost their dates afterward.
She explains: “I joined a year ago. I have my own financial stability, so I want a man who won’t take advantage of me — someone who can also provide for me. It’s not shallow, I simply know what I want.
“I provided my Instagram details during the application process, which demonstrate that I can afford to dine at the finest restaurants in London, wear designer clothing, and travel to exotic destinations.
“When I first joined, I was genuinely happy. The subscription costs about £20 a month. There are rules in place. Screenshots of anyone are strictly prohibited — and anyone caught leaking messages or revealing names is removed from the app.
“I’ve had both positive and negative experiences. The people on the app tend to be more successful, and dates are usually more generous. You just need to be cautious of the egos and men who are only interested in one thing. I’m looking for a serious relationship, not a one-night stand.
“But I will continue searching for Mr. Right. I’m confident he’s out there somewhere.”
Here, our insider opens her diary from the past year to reveal the highs and lows of her Raya experience . . .
