It is predicted that the 2030 tournament will be just as thrilling as this year’s one, and SunSport can reveal exactly who is hosting it.
Who is hosting the Commonwealth Games 2030?
The 2030 will take place in India, more specifically in the city of Ahmedabad, which is in the Indian state of Gurajat.
Ahmedabad is the fifth largest city in India with a population of over 5.5million people.
It is home to the largest stadium in the world, the Narendra Modi Stadium which has a capacity of approximately 132,000 fans.
This will be the third Commonwealth Games to be held in Asia and the second in India.
As the first ever competition was held in 1930, similar to the World Cup, this will be the centenary Games.
When does the Commonwealth Games 2030 start?
The 2030 Commonwealth Games is planned to get underway in October but it is yet to be finalised.
Games typically last for an 11-day period. For example, the 2026 Games got underway on July 23 and concludes today – Sunday, August 2.
A lot of the events will take place on the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave while other events will be held nearby Gandhinagar.
And a new Karai Police Academy Sports Hub is planned to host athletic events.
