ARCHIE SELF capped the week of his young life off on Halloween by winning his first high-profile senior darts event.
And then the 16-year-old was amazed by how his name is in contention with the bookmakers for next month’s PDC World Championship.

On Saturday night, the Berkshire teenager was crowned the Series 15 champion of the MODUS Super Series in Portsmouth following a 4-2 victory over Andy Baetens in the final.
It followed last Wednesday in the group stage of the competition – he is the youngest person to achieve a perfect leg live on British TV.
This eclipsed Luke Littler’s record from January 2024 – The Nuke achieved the feat in Bahrain just days before his 17th birthday.
Former world junior champion Self earned worldwide fame for that nine-dart leg and he was even congratulated on social media by former and striker .
The next day, Self – who turns 17 this month – learned he has all but qualified for Ally Pally thanks to results on the Pro Tour, mainly the performances of rival Tommy Morris.
should be confirmed this week with the conclusion to the 34-day Player Championship Series.
Self – known as The Archer – threw his darts on the floor when he won the MODUS event, cheered to the rafters by lots of vocal family and friends.
And Belgian Baetens, 37, looked haunted by the result as he put his head in his hands on his table.

The left-hander from Thatcham said: “I was so nervous all the way through. Everything seemed to be going high.
“I changed the way I was throwing towards the stem and it worked. But this week has helped my confidence.
“I watched the Pro Tour on Thursday and what a boy Tommy Morris is, that’s all I am saying.
“My team are special to me. Every single one of them. Okay, I got a bit annoyed with them towards the end of that final.
“I didn’t want them shouting at me as I was going for my throw.
“I did a couple of gestures to calm them down but that’s darts unfortunately.
“This is my biggest achievement, 100%. I was world junior champion at Lakeside.
“But that was a youth career. This is the first big men’s tournament I have won.
“I was told I’m 21st favourite (for the Worlds) the other day. I said: ‘How?’ I have only played four Pro Tours and that is it.
“I’m looking forward to Ally Pally and hopefully I can take this form to that.”
