UK weather: Brits to enjoy ‘final taste of summer’ next week with temperatures expected to reach 25C

BRITS are set to indulge in the “final taste of summer” next week as temperatures are expected to hit 25C.

Wetter, colder and cloudier conditions have marked the beginning of September after a warm and dry .

The has forecast “warmer-than-average” moving into next week, with some regions experiencing 25C highs on Monday.

A transition to drier and brighter is expected to begin on Sunday and Monday, with the pleasant conditions lasting until the end of the week.

According to the Met Office: “These temperatures would be notably warm for late September and could offer a final taste of before becomes more firmly established.”

From midday today, rain is expected to begin clearing from the southeast, leaving the south with a mostly dry and sunny rest of the day, while some heavy showers and strong winds continue in the north.

By this evening, will mainly have faded across the central and eastern areas of the UK, with longer periods of rain continuing in the west and north.

Moving into the weekend, is forecast to be hit by the heaviest rainfall, with patchy rain expected in the south and west.

Once the changeable conditions are over, vast parts of the country will enjoy a drier and sunnier Sunday and Monday.

Peak will be recorded at the start of the week in the south of , with , Reading and Cambridge all forecast for 25C highs at 4pm on Monday.

Even larger swathes of the country, including Glasgow, Manchester and Plymouth will enjoy temperatures of at least 20C at that time, alongside Birmingham reaching 24C.

will persist through the middle of week, with temperatures across the country ranging from the high teens and early twenties between Tuesday and Thursday.

London is forecast to hit a high of 24C next Friday, with peak temperatures remaining in the low twenties until the beginning of October.
