Migrant arrested in Ceuta after ‘slashing 17-year-old’s face with knife’ as locals fume over lack of deportations

A MIGRANT has been arrested in Ceuta for allegedly stabbing a 17-year-old’s face with a knife.

Local outrage in the over the lack of deportations and plans to house up to 10,000 people in the enclave.

Two migrants were arrested this morning – with one accused of slashing a teenager with a blade.

The other was detained on suspicion of burglary.

Police said the alleged stabbing ordeal took place at 3am after receiving reports of an assault near the Trampolin settlement.

The suspect has been accused of cutting a young man’s face with a knife.

Local cops arrested him at the scene.

It comes amid reports only 307 migrants have been deported since the mass border crossing from Morocco in July.

The country’s socialist prime minister Pedro Sánchez has also announced plans to house up to 10,000 migrants in the city .

Around 80,000 people swam and stormed across the border in just 24 hours at the end of July.

The city, with a population of just 84,000 itself, was completely overwhelmed.

With nothing to eat, and nowhere to or defecate apart from on streets or beaches, most left voluntarily in the days after the mass border crossing.

But nearly 10,000 migrants remain, many sleeping in shacks which now .

As terrified locals , Sánchez said the crisis could last as long as the end of this year.

He told TV show El Intermedio on Tuesday that 6,000 migrants will be housed by the end of this week, adding: “We hope to have stabilised the situation by the end of the year.”

307 migrants have been deported, according to the head of the unified command Ángel Víctor Torres.

More than 5,000 have returned to Morocco voluntarily, he said. The rest are waiting to be processed.

Torres said around 90 per cent of those remaining in the Spanish enclave are from North Africa and will ultimately be sent home.

They must first be processed and will be housed in the government accommodation announced by Sanchez.

It comes after bombshell documents reveal Spanish spies had warned about social media calls for a from Morocco the day before tens of thousands charged into Ceuta.

Sánchez insisted that the border breach had been impossible to predict.

But opposition parties claimed the documents prove the government misled the public.
