Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has stated that key supporters of President Bola Tinubu are endorsing Peter Obi to become the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Adeyanju noted that prominent Tinubu supporters, including the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, and former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, are backing Obi's candidacy within the ADC.
This comment came in response to Fayose’s assertion that Obi represents the only vital force in the ADC.
Fayose remarked, “Peter Obi is the only vital force in ADC. The other members are merely existing. Atiku and Tambuwal have harmed the PDP.”
In a post on X, Adeyanju expressed his curiosity about why they appear to be apprehensive about a Northern presidential candidate.
He stated, “Why are all the major supporters of Tinubu promoting Peter Obi as their preferred candidate? From Keyamo to Fayose, they are advocating for the coalition to endorse Obi.
“Why does it seem like they are intimidated by a Northern candidate, particularly the perennial contender Atiku? Their anxiety is quite apparent.”
