For two decades, Tess Daly has been the face of Strictly Come Dancing, having hosted the show since its very first episode.
However, in a surprising announcement this week, she and co-host Claudia, 53, revealed their departure from the show without providing a specific reason.

Industry experts believe that her departure from the BBC show puts Tess, 56, in an ideal position to take over as a daytime TV host, with ITV likely eager to sign her.
“Tess previously hosted SMTV, making her a strong candidate for a show like This Morning,” brand and culture expert Nick Ede shared with The Sun.
“Her team would have no trouble positioning her as a daytime presenter, and she could easily step in as holiday cover for someone like Cat to transition into it.
“She’s a beloved star among fans, making her a great fit for such a role. I think ITV will try to lure her away from the BBC.”
“For years, she’s been like Mariah Carey, only appearing to announce the arrival of Christmas. Leaving Strictly is going to be a pivotal moment for her, allowing her to negotiate her next move and host something truly spectacular.”
It’s reported that she earns approximately £150,000 for her role on Strictly, but since she is compensated through BBC Studios and not directly by the BBC, her salary has never been publicly disclosed.
Other reports suggest her earnings could be as high as £350,000, but she is expected to earn significantly more from brand partnerships and new opportunities outside of the dance competition.
Tess began her role on the show in 2004 alongside Bruce Forsyth and continued to lead the show after he stepped down in 2013.
In her statement, Tess expressed, “Strictly has been more than just a television program. It has felt like a third child, a second family, and a significant part of my life since that very first show in 2004. I knew then it was something special, but I could never have imagined the magic it would bring.”
“Strictly has always been about joy, celebration, and unity — and I’m so proud to have contributed to something that means so much to so many.”
She concluded by saying, “This isn’t a farewell to glitter, sequins, or Saturday night sparkle (I could never part with those!).
“Strictly will always hold a special place in my heart — but it feels like the right time to pass the baton.”
PR expert Mark Borkowski also believes that This Morning will be eyeing the BBC’s star talent.
He stated, “Tess is a top talent, and ITV would love to have her because she comes with a built-in audience. Any move she makes will generate significant headlines.
I can envision Tess receiving major fashion offers because she has such style.

“Tess is the girl-next-door type of presenter, which is incredibly popular. Even though she has been in prime time for 20 years, whatever slot she takes, she will undoubtedly make it prime time.
“I also expect channels like ITV to want to sign her for something. Tess is a reliable talent and has maintained a scandal-free reputation, which is appealing.
“She would be ideal for a morning TV program, as they all need a boost right now, but she could also transform
