BRIGHTON leapfrogged Sunderland and moved into tenth in the Premier League with an impressive 1-0 win at the Stadium of Light.

Yankuba Minteh grabbed the winner for Brighton in bizarre circumstances as he somehow found the back of the net from a tight angle.

And Brighton could have had a second when Diego Gomez fired well over the bar from close range.

The Seagulls have now won three games from their last four under boss Fabian Hurzeler.

Sunderland were hoping to push for the European places after their surprise season, but those hopes look to be fading after one win in six.
