FURIOUS fans hit out at Sky Sports’ coverage of Everton’s Carabao Cup win over Newcastle.
The Toffees over their Premier League rivals to book their place in the quarter-finals.

And the showdown was televised on Plus instead of the broadcaster’s usual football channels.
The decision resulted in there being no presenter, pundits or commentators at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
But it did not go down well with those tuning in to see Everton – who were without Jack Grealish after a – knock Newcastle out of the Carabao Cup.
Fans rushed onto social media to slam Sky Sports bigwigs for the controversial call.
One said: “Now we’re having to listen to two commentators stuck in a cupboard somewhere because are too tight to send them to the game! Can barely hear the crowd.”
Another added: “So Sky Sports have the rights to show the Everton v Newcastle EFL Cup game but have chosen to hide it behind the red button whilst showing League Two highlights on their dedicated Sky Sports Football channel?! Bizarre!!!”
A third raged: “Am I a f***ing idiot? I’m on Sky Sports Plus, I’ve got the red button and there’s only the choice of f***ing tennis courts. Why’s Everton v Newcastle not on a normal channel?”
A fourth chimed in: “Sky Sports have two football channels, and they are not showing the vs Newcastle game on either one and are instead hiding it behind Sky Sports Plus. Make it make sense.”

And a fifth claimed: “Cheap night for Sky with no presenters. Why couldn’t they get one ex-Everton and one ex-? Player on to host.”
Sky Sports defended their broadcasting call for the fourth round tie on Merseyside.
A spokesperson said: “While it was an unusual viewing experience for Premier League supporters, Sky Sports regularly show and EFL fixtures via Sky Sports Plus with commentary delivered from a remote studio for the feed.
“The Everton vs Newcastle match was shown via a Sky Sports Plus stream which is separate from the linear channel, which showed tennis at the time.”

Everton – who have been handed a – put themselves in the driving seat thanks to goals from James Garner, Hayden Hackney and Thierno Barry.
And Newcastle, who grabbed a late consolation through Dan Burn, could not mount a stunning fightback.
