Kaduna residents have continued to mourn the late former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.

DAILY POST recalls that Buhari’s death was announced by his family members on Sunday evening.

Our correspondent, who was at the late President Buhari’s residence located at the heart of Kaduna, observed that security operatives blocked the main entrance preventing sympathisers and mourners access.

One of the armed personnel guarding the main entrance told the reporters, “As you can see the whole place is calm. We will not allow you to go further. Please kindly take your vehicle out”;.

However, the environment was calm at the time of the visit.

Although Kaduna metropolis and its environs remained calm and peaceful, several residents of the state standing in groups, were discussing the impact of Buhari’s death.

One of the residents, Alhaji Shuwobi Mohammed, a car dealer, told our reporter that the man who orchestrated discipline in Nigeria had gone

“I miss former president Buhari. During his time as military head of state, discipline was the core of his governance, war against indiscipline was introduced and you cannot behave otherwise,”; he said.

Also, Salisu Tumori, a factory worker said, “what I love about Buhari was his truth, his core value, and above all, his simplicity.”;

Maryam Yusufu, a housewife, said “a no-nonsense man has gone”;, adding that “it’s difficult to have a man of integrity, uprightness in this country like Buhari.”;

Meanwhile, Mrs. Fumilayo Ajalaki, women leader, Sabo ward of All Progressives Congress, said the survival of the party was because of Buhari’s integrity, adding that with his demise, the APC has suffered a great loss

“We don’t know if APC will survive in the next few years. Buhari’ integrity has sustained the party to a large extent and now that he is no more, I don’t know how it will be,”; she stated.
