RUSSIA has blitzed two passenger trains with suicide missiles, leaving one child injured and two dead.

Putin’s bombs hammered the pair of locomotives carrying a total of 890 innocent passengers with jet-powered within just hours of each other in ‘s Odessa region.

Startling footage shows a train driver’s cab completely engulfed in flames following the strike that ultimately killed two crew members.

Russian drones pummelled the first locomotive in the Oblast on the morning of August 13.

The victims of the attack were two crew members, the train machinist and his assistant, the CEO of Ukrainian Railways Oleksandr Pertsovskyi confirmed.

It was carrying 340 passengers, 67 of which were children, on the busy Odesa–Dnipro route.

Hours later a second Kremlin drone struck a train carrying 500 passengers.

One child was injured.

No fatalities have been reported.

President Zelensky posted to X: “Today in the Odesa region, the Russians once again destroyed an ordinary passenger train locomotive with a jet-powered drone.

“There were 340 people on the train.

“And whoever was operating that drone certainly could not have been unaware that the target was entirely civilian.

“As of now, unfortunately, we know that the locomotive engineer and his assistant were killed in the strike.

He continued: “There were also overnight in 11 regions – the Russians used more than 130 attack drones.

“Every day, the Russians strike ordinary people’s lives simply for the sake of terror.

“And unfortunately, far from every such attack receives a strong response from the world.

“More air defence support and more pressure on are needed if the world is serious about stopping this war in Europe.

Russia has struck over 200 Ukrainian locomotives this year according to Euromanidan .

Minister of Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba said: “Russia has chosen out logisitcs to simply deprive us either of logistics to the ports, logistics to Donetsk Oblast, or frontline logistics.”

Ukraine has now sustained roughly as many locomotive losses in the first half of 2026 alone as in the previous 15 months combined.

A recent report by the revealed civilian deaths in Ukraine hit a record-high in July, the highest since the first months of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The UN Monitoring Mission said in a statement on Thursday: “At least 437 civilians were killed and 2,610 injured in Ukraine in July, a 30 percent increase compared with the previous month and a 70 percent increase compared with July 2025.”

It comes as suspected as a glamourous woman who defected to Vladimir Putin’s regime.

Margarita Reutt, 32, allegedly acted as a covert Ukrainian intelligence operative before planting a bomb inside a rubbish bin and remotely detonating it in Sevastopol.
