Former Governor of Niger State, Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has eliminated the detrimental elements that have been hindering the party's progress.

Aliyu was responding to the expulsion of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, along with his associates from the PDP.

DAILY POST recalls that during its national convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Saturday, former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, was also present.

In his remarks, Aliyu noted, “Like surgeons, we have excised a cancer—the cancer that has afflicted our party and weakened it.

“We are optimistic that with the removal of this cancer, the party will regain its strength and provide Nigerians with viable options.”

He also cautioned against the danger of transforming the country into a one-party state, emphasizing that the repercussions would be severe.

“If we make the mistake of establishing a one-party state in Nigeria, we will suffer the consequences. Therefore, it is crucial that we offer alternatives to the Nigerian people,” he concluded.
