A MUM has been arrested after she allegedly decapitated her disabled son and tossed his head into a city pond because she thought she was a witch.

Teacher Elena Tsukanova, 31, has been charged with murder after cops found six-year-old Miloslav’s torso on the balcony of her flat in Moscow, Russia.

Their discovery came after shocked workers at Golyanovsky pond found the boy’s severed head and reported it to police.

The head was squeezed into a plastic bag and purple backpack that had been thrown into the water, according to reports.

It’s understood a jigsaw or hacksaw was used to behead the corpse, but knives were also seized from Tsukanova’s flat.

The mum today confessed to murdering her disabled son and throwing his dismembered head into the pond, according to the Russian Investigation Committee.

Tsukanova “believed herself to be a witch” boasting of supernatural powers.

She said she was a “conduit between worlds” and participated in “experiments with consciousness”.

Initially, law enforcement believed the boy to be aged between seven and ten.

The child was reported missing by his grandmother who claimed he had left with his “stepfather”.

His mum has since been charged with murder and cops are searching for the boy’s stepdad.

The committee alleged that during her interrogation the boy’s mum did not provide a motive for killing the child, who could not walk unaided.

She also has a daughter, nine, who was unharmed.

The boy’s dad had broken up with Tsukanova in June and left the family home after a ten-year relationship.

He heard about his son’s death from a news bulletin.

Tsukanova had studied to be a teacher at the Sholokhov Moscow State University for the Humanities.

It comes as a boy died after his mother allegedly slit his throat with a large kitchen knife in their Italy home amid an eight-year custody dispute.

Police in Trieste named , whose mother, 55-year-old Ukrainian national Olena Stasiuk, reportedly killed him earlier this week.

Officers stormed the Muggia apartment after Giovanni’s father, Paolo Trame, raised the alarm when he lost contact with the pair.

Inside, cops found the boy dead on the bathroom floor, believed to have been dead for several hours.

Stasiuk was taken into custody and is under investigation for aggravated voluntary manslaughter.

Italian outlet Corriere della Sera reported that Stasiuk had long been monitored by courts and mental health services.

The killing came during what was said to be one of the first unprotected visits she’d had with her son after years of supervised contact following the couple’s 2017 separation.

Court documents and reports cited by Corriere della Sera show Giovanni had previously expressed fear of being alone with his mother.

In one exchange with professionals, he reportedly said: “I’m sad when I go to my mom… Because I’m scared.”

When asked why, he added: “She was strangling me,” later describing how “Mom grabbed me by the neck, squeezing it with both hands.”
