Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has delivered a compelling message to the new Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman, urging him to swiftly unite the party and bring back harmony.

Fayose emphasized that the PDP is “in urgent need of a new direction,” and it is crucial for the new chairman to act promptly to provide that direction.

He stated, “I congratulate the new chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman. I implore him to unite the party and restore faith among its members.”

Fayose also advised Abdulrahman to tackle what he referred to as injustices and irregularities within the party, particularly in states such as Ekiti.

“Most importantly, he should investigate the misconduct and injustices that have occurred in states like Ekiti and others, aiming to rectify them in line with the party's constitution and existing court rulings,” he added.

The former governor further encouraged the new chairman to collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure a credible National Convention that would result in the formation of a new National Working Committee.

“He should also be a team player and guarantee the formation of a new National Working Committee through a legitimate National Convention, which should take place immediately after the outstanding congresses are conducted in states and zones, and those held contrary to court rulings are reviewed,” Fayose remarked.

Alhaji Abdulrahman Mohammed, the Sadaunan Takushara, assumed the role of Acting National Chairman following the suspension of Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum.
