RUSSIA has accused the UK of engaging in acts of terrorism following the unfortunate death of a British soldier in Ukraine.

The Kremlin has demanded clarification on the circumstances surrounding the death of the British soldier, implying that London is assisting Kyiv in carrying out “terrorist acts.”

Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated on Thursday that Britain must reveal the true nature of Lance Corporal George Hooley's activities at the time of his death in Ukraine.

Britain’s Ministry of Defence reported that the 28-year-old died while observing Ukrainian forces testing a new defensive capability away from the frontline.

However, Zakharova claimed that the British government should not mislead its citizens by asserting that British soldiers sent to Ukraine are simply advisers or instructors, accusing British forces of aiding Kyiv in “terrorist attacks and extremist tasks” under direct orders from London.

Zakharova indicated that Russia would consider any foreign military presence in Ukraine as legitimate targets, although she did not provide evidence to support her claims of alleged broader UK involvement.

The British paratrooper and elite special forces soldier sustained fatal injuries on Saturday while observing a drone-related defense test conducted by Ukraine, as reported by Defence Secretary John Healey to The Sun’s Harry Cole Saves the West.

He succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, and his next of kin have been notified.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov commented today: “They’re imagining sending their troops to Ukraine as peacekeepers.

“For us, these so-called peacekeepers will instantly become legitimate targets.

“This is something we must acknowledge.

“We have already been compelled to recognize the direct involvement of British troops and special forces in the conflict against Russia.

“After the death of one of their own, and with the British government unable to hide these facts any longer, it was revealed that no fewer than 100 British citizens are fighting against the Russian Federation.

“Naturally, we will draw all necessary conclusions from this recent demonstration of the true nature of the British regime.”

The Sun has disclosed that Hooley was serving with the Special Forces Support Group, which is part of the 1st Battalion, Parachute Regiment, and is based in St Athan.

Their responsibilities include supporting the SAS and SBS during missions.
