The teams drew 1-1 in Portugal last week, but Forest were presented with a golden passage to the final four.

Former Southampton man Jan Bednarek was sent off inside 10 minutes for a high foot on Chris Wood.

Forest then seized the opportunity as Morgan Gibbs-White found the net with a deflected effort in the 12th minute.

The ten men of Porto did threaten in the second half as Alan Varela rattled the crossbar late on.

Jesus almost sealed the win in the 94th minute as his deflected striker flew over Diogo Costa but it bounced off the bar.

The victory sees Forest reach their first European semi-final since 1984, where they will face Aston Villa.
