Frankie Boyle's Book Adaptation
SKY has officially approved a high-budget drama based on comedian Frankie Boyle’s book, Meantime.
The crime novel, released in 2022, marks Boyle's transition from stand-up comedian to accomplished author.

I can disclose that filming is set to begin in March, although the series is not expected to premiere until 2027.
A source from the TV industry stated: “This project has been a hot topic in the television sector for months as one of the most intriguing initiatives Sky has undertaken.
“It aligns perfectly with their desire to showcase gritty narratives crafted by a diverse array of creators, similar to what we recently witnessed with The Death Of Bunny Munro, which was written by a musician-turned-author.
“Much like that series, which featured a prominent lead, Meantime is expected to have a well-known star, although Sky is currently keeping that information under wraps.”
What is confirmed is that filming will take place at Sky’s Elstree Studios near London and in Glasgow, the setting of Frankie’s novel.
The narrative unfolds shortly after the 2014 independence referendum, focusing on Valium addict Felix McAveety as he navigates the mystery surrounding his friend Marina's death.
Felix is assisted by a crime fiction writer named Jane, an eccentric leftist named Amy, and his melancholic neighbor Donnie.
Together, they uncover evidence suggesting that British Intelligence services may have been involved in Marina's murder, whose body is discovered in a local park.
However, it seems unlikely that a television sequel will emerge anytime soon, particularly one based on Frankie’s novels.
Instead of continuing the story of Meantime, Frankie has recently released a new book titled A Short History Of The Apocalypse, which offers advice on surviving a societal collapse into chaos and anarchy.
This might be a bit TOO intense, even for Sky.

Kieran Culkin and wife Jazz will also be part of the charity special
Succession star Kieran Culkin will also share his opinions on various shows alongside his partner, Jazz.
Josh has become a fan of the series after being introduced to it by Tamsin.
He remarked: “Having the opportunity to sit with Tamsin, share some laughs, and inevitably say something that embarrasses us both, all while raising awareness for a truly worthwhile charity, is the perfect way to kick off the holidays.”
St Trinian’s actress Tamsin shared how they became fans during lockdown.
“I found it incredibly comforting to watch other families across the country enjoying TV ‘with’ us,” she mentioned.
They are the first two pairs announced for Celebrity Gogglebox for Stand Up To Cancer, airing Friday at 9pm, with two more pairs to be revealed.
Former England star and campmate Jill Scott is teaming up with comedian Maisie Adam to present Channel 4’s coverage of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
The action kicks off on Saturday with the third-round match between Wolves and Nottingham Forest starting at 11:45 am.
