Chelsea kicked off their Club World Cup campaign with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Los Angeles FC in Group D.
The Blues are the first Premier League side to feature in this year’s tournament.
They took the lead in the 34th minute after dominating much of the opening exchanges.
Pedro Neto latched onto a long ball and took two sublime touches before firing into the bottom corner of Hugo Lloris’ net.
The MLS side threatened to equalise after the break but lacked sharpness in the final third.
Enzo Fernández then settled the game with a neat finish in the 79th minute.
Chelsea’s next match will be against Flamengo on Friday, while LAFC will take on Esperance of Tunisia.
