FOOTIE fans outrageously claimed the Carabao Cup quarter-final draw was “rigged” moments after the final ball was drawn.

The draw for the quarter-finals, which will be played the week of December 14, took place on Wednesday night.

It was held immediately after the mouth-watering fourth-round tie between Liverpool and at Anfield.

And it threw up some entertaining fixtures.

Fleetwood Town, who dumped out reigning Premier League champions Arsenal, will face the winner of the last fourth-round tie between Everton and Newcastle.

The quarter-finals will feature two all-Premier League affairs, with Liverpool facing Bournemouth at Anfield and Crystal Palace welcoming Sunderland to Selhurst Park.

And the last quarter-final tie will see Championship hopefuls Bradford City travel to the Etihad to take on Manchester City.

Many footie fans were left happy by the matches the draw threw up.

Several, however, weren’t pleased and baselessly claimed that City getting Bradford was proof the draw had been “rigged”.

One wrote on X: “City need 115 charges relating to rigged league cup draws alone.”

A Liverpool fan said: “The EFL Cup is rigged. Ofc they don’t want City to face us.”

And another said: “Rigged bulls**t to benefit Man City.”

One remarked: “What a surpriseeeeee.

“Rigged draw rigged competition city always getting lower league opponents 🤡 114.”

Another chimed in: “Of course City get Bradford at home draw totally ain’t rigged.”

The fans claiming the draw was “rigged” in City’s favour have, of course, provided zero proof to substantiate their wild claims.

The draw, which was conducted live on Sky Sports, isn’t in any way fixed as the balls were mixed before being drawn out by Conor Coady and Graeme Le Saux.

Fans’ focus on City doesn’t come as a surprise, as they were only last month found .

City have and are confident the evidence in their possession will see them exonerated.
