HEADING to your parents for a cup of tea and a biscuit always feels good.
But vintage and experts reveal there could be more value in their kitchen than just nostalgic memories.

In fact, hidden among their retro decor and old pots and pans, there could be some surprising hidden treasures.
And we’re not just talking your favourite cup from decades ago, some of these vintage finds can be worth hundreds, so it’s about time you go rummaging in their cupboards to see what you can find.
Copper Pots
Copper pots and pans don’t just look pretty, they’re highly valuable goods according to Lauren Morris, owner of Laurel and Dove Vintage .
“Brands like Mauviel can go for £600+ for a set of four pots,” she told House Beautiful.
So if you find one in your parents’ kitchen, give it a good wash with soap and remove any tarnishing with lemon and salt.
Dough Bowls
We all know making sourdough is back in fashion, and if you saw your mum kneading bread when you were young, it’s worth looking for her bowls.
According to Lauren, large dough bowls of all shapes and sizes go for around £50.
The rarer they are and the older, the more you can get.
Clocks & Timers
While most of us are used to asking Siri to put a timer on so that our food doesn’t burn, that wasn’t an option when our parents were young.
Instead, they used classic kitchen clocks and timers, and if they still have one lying around, you’re in luck.
“Clocks are one of the most valuable items you can find in a kitchen,” says David Joyson, chief customer officer at Homeprotect .
“The older the better when selling old clocks on the online marketplace, and hand-carved ones do well, too.”

Bread Boards
Next time you’re cutting bread at their house, check the board you’re using.
Lauren claims antique bread boards with carved details are highly sought after.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s beat up, scarred, cracked, greasy, or ugly – if it’s old enough or unique enough, someone will pay a pretty penny for it,” Lauren adds.
What are the biggest kitchen trends of 2025?
The kitchen is the heart of every home and this year it’s taking centre stage, Tracy Coleman, Product Director at High Street TV told Fabulous.
Hardworking appliances
Space-saving essentials are needed in every room of the house, and the kitchen is no exception, meaning appliances are often doing double (or triple) the job.
Expect to see air fryer ovens that roast, bake, and fry or blenders with attachments for everything from chopping to grinding.
Health and wellness
With people becoming more mindful of what they eat and how it impacts their well-being, kitchen appliances are stepping up to
meet the demand for healthier, more balanced lifestyles.
Air fryers remain hugely popular, along with blenders and juicers that retain nutrients.
Energy-bill conscious
Finally, with rising energy bills and an increased focus on sustainability, people are turning to appliances that help reduce power consumption and keep costs down.
More people are finding joy in cooking at home as a cost-effective
way to enjoy delicious, nutritious meals. Cooking at home doesn’t just save money—it’s also a fun way to bring the family together or experiment with new recipes.
With the right tools, such as multi-functional appliances and smart kitchen gadgets, creating meals at home becomes easier, faster, and more satisfying.
Dessert Moulds
Traditional desserts may not be the type of thing we often cook now, but their moulds make for perfect decorations.
Lauren says copper and ironstone moulds are valuable for collectors.
The more intricate the design, the better, as many use them for wall decor.
Butter Dishes
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know butter dishes are making a huge comeback.
So if you find any vintage ones with a cute design lurking in the back of their cupboards, make sure to bag it.
Plenty of people are also getting into making their own butter as well, so if you find a pineapple-shaped Treen butter mould getting dusty in the cupboards see what you can get for it online.
Ceramic Spice Jars
A ceramic spice jar set can be worth hundreds as cottage-core style makes a comeback into our .
“Ceramic spice jar collections are extremely sought after, and even if it’s incomplete, collectors will still be on the lookout for singles,” Lauren explains.
“However, other designs with fairies, cats, or florals can be worth £75-100 for a set of 24.”
