Zamfara Assembly Dismisses ZAROTA Commandant Amid Allegations of N10m Fund Misappropriation

The Zamfara State House of Assembly has removed the Commandant General of the Zamfara State Road Traffic Agency, ZAROTA, Muhammad Bello Musa, commonly referred to as Kwata Kwata.

The Speaker of the House, Hon. Bilyaminu Isma’il Moriki, announced this decision after an extended debate and a comprehensive investigation conducted by the House committee.

“Following the investigation carried out by the House committee, the allegations were confirmed to be accurate, and the House unanimously decided to dismiss the Commandant General of ZAROTA, Musa Kwata Kwata,” the Speaker stated.

The Assembly also instructed the immediate transfer of responsibilities to the senior officer within the agency until a new Commandant is appointed by Governor Dauda Lawal.

Kwata Kwata faced accusations of misappropriating over N10 million from the agency’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), which led to the House's decisive action.
