A former Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, stated that he does not belong to the group of northerners advocating for the removal of President Bola Tinubu.
However, he expressed his unwavering commitment to ensuring that the Tinubu administration and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are democratically ousted from power in 2027.
In an interview on Channels Television regarding his recent experiences with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Tambuwal mentioned that the Tinubu administration is uncomfortable with his involvement in the opposition African Democratic Party (ADC).
When questioned about whether he believes his EFCC trial is politically motivated, he affirmed, “Yes.”
When asked to identify those pursuing him, the politician remarked, “Those who are concerned are apprehensive about my activities.”
Regarding whether this is linked to his political aspirations, he clarified, “It’s because I’m fully engaged in a process that aims to democratically and lawfully, with God's grace, remove this government from office. I am 100 percent committed to it.”
“With God's assistance, we will remove this government from power, with the support of God and the Nigerian people.”
When asked if it is accurate that some individuals in the North are dissatisfied with the Tinubu administration and are conspiring against it, he responded, “It is true that Nigerians are unhappy.”
“I am not one of those individuals in the North advocating for Tinubu's removal. I am part of a national coalition advocating for a change in leadership at Aso Rock through a constitutional democratic process on May 29.”
