Zenit St Petersburg hosted Akhmat Grozny at the Gazprom Arena in what turned out to be a surprisingly memorable encounter.

Akhmat ace Nader Ghandri was sent off during the game’s final stages.

Ghandri, 30, seemed quite overwhelmed after the decision and took his shirt off.

The centre-back proceeded to throw his jersey to a visiting Grozny fan in the stands.

The international then made his way to the dressing room for an early shower.

However, intervened and let the referee know about his call.

The ref ultimately reversed his decision and ordered the visitors’ bench to recall Ghandri.

The Tunisian ace made his way back to the touchline but needed to wear an official jersey before coming back on.

The defender went on to plead for his shirt back from the fan he handed it to.

The supporter proved to be a good sport as he immediately returned the player’s top.
