EMIRATES is often named the best airline in the world, but what is it really like flying in their business class?
The most popular route for from the UK is to Dubai, where the UAE airline is based.

The onboard bar is certainly a highlight
All passengers are greeted with a drink – juice is on offer but champagne is hard to resist…
Taking between 6hr30 and seven hours, I tried out their award-winning business class during a trip there myself.
While many may think all business class seats are extreme luxury, I can tell you they are not all made the same (my lips are sealed on the airlines that are not worth the extra spend…).
The first impression is how spacious the cabin is.
Found on the upper deck, it is laid out in a 1-2-1 format where the middle two seats can be opened up, so is ideal for couples or mates.
The are staggered so you feel like you still have privacy, be it the aisle or window seat.
Upon boarding, drinks are handed out including juice or, of course, , as well as a hot towel. So far so good.
Complimentary bags of slippers and eye masks are found in each seat, as well as an amenities kit.
Back in 2024, the airline rolled out new Bulgari toiletry kits, with different ones for both men and women.
I was seriously impressed with how much was in each amenity kit – both of them had toothbrushes, deodorant, ear plugs and razors inside.
Along with that, they also had and body lotions, with pink Rose Goldea for women and darker Wood Essence for men.
Each comes in a unique bag in cream or brown – making it a great keepsake.
I was even impressed with the , which easily drowned out the screaming child next to me.
It also passed the test of having a great film selection onboard, with new films such asas well as older classics and rom-coms like Sleepless in Seattle.
After being watered and pampered, it was onto the next best thing – the dinner options.
When it comes to food, it is a classic menu, but executed well.
Each passenger gets free slippers and eye masks
The food menu is classic but very well executed, and has some great side salads and breads
My three course meal of , beef tenderloin and chocolate torte were enough to get me ready for bed (the dessert I could barely squeeze in but was glad I did – it was one of the best in-flight puddings I’ve had).
It also came with fresh breads, salads and a range of wines, beers and cocktails to choose from.
But I was saving myself for my favourite part of the plane – the onbaord bar.
It is one of the few airlines to still have one, with set to scrap all of theirs.
Chatting to the crew, they mixed up a or two while I got chatting to other passengers hanging out there as well.
An addition of a bar and lounge area makes the flight feel less like a tin can going from A to B, and much more of a relaxing experience I can only imagine was the norm in theof flying.
Only first class passengers get showers but you can still freshen up in the bathrooms
The Bulgari kits are one to keep (or gift, if feeling generous)
When it came to flight crew, they were easily some of the best I’ve experienced onboard.
They were friendly and polite, but knew when to disturb you or when to leave you alone.
Sadly, no pyjamas come with the flight even if it is overnight – for that you will need to head to first class.
And because of their first class offering, which many airlines are scrapping, it means some of the business class additions seen on others are missing.
This includes a sliding door, which many other airlines have in their business class including and Lufthansa.
However, the airline is clearly one of the stand out stars for business class.
It has the world’s biggest business class lounge in Dubai, while you can visit their exclusive lounges elsewhere in the world, including in London.
And one of the reasons is their complimentary service home or to your hotel too – another perk that only a few airlines offer.
Simply hop off the flight, head to the dedicated area after arrivals, and you can be whisked away door to door.
I can see why they keep getting named the after all…
