Asked about his “I’m back” comment, Ronaldo said: “Yes, so people do not forget.”

He is not the competition’s oldest scorer, however, with Roger Milla having netted aged 42 in 1994.

Portugal will take on in their final group game on Saturday night.

If they win they will finish top of Group K.
