The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has revealed the reasons behind the suspension of its National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and National Organizing Secretary, Umar Bature, by the National Working Committee (NWC).
According to DAILY POST, the NWC-PDP suspended the duo for one month following a court ruling that postponed the party's scheduled national convention. This decision was made public on Saturday by the Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade, and Deputy Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha.
The NWC-PDP reportedly sent a formal warning letter to Anyanwu and Bature on September 30, 2025.
This warning letter cited allegations of misconduct, including unauthorized communications, anti-party activities, and actions that jeopardized party unity and adherence to protocols.
The letter also served as a final warning to Anyanwu and Bature, urging them to comply with NWC directives immediately to avoid further disciplinary actions.
“Despite these warnings, their ongoing participation in activities considered disruptive led to their suspensions.
“This highlights our dedication to maintaining internal discipline, democratic processes within the party, and transparency.
“The proactive measures, including the issuance of the warning, reflect our determination to preserve our integrity in anticipation of forthcoming national engagements,” the party stated.
