JTBC’s upcoming drama “Good Boy”;; has released a preview for its first episode!
“Good Boy”;; is a comic action drama that follows a group of former national athletes—Yoon Dong Joo (Park Bo Gum), Ji Han Na (Kim So Hyun), Kim Jong Hyun (Lee Sang Yi), Go Man Sik (Heo Sung Tae), and Shin Jae Hong (Tae Won Suk)—who become police officers through a special recruitment program. Swapping medals for badges, they take on a world full of corruption, deception, and injustice.
The newly released preview opens with Yoon Dong Joo’s return to his hometown of Inseong City. He’s immediately met with hostility—publicly insulted by the violent crimes unit and dragged into a disciplinary hearing. Reluctantly taken in by team leader Go Man Sik, Dong Joo ends up causing a major blunder on his very first day, crushing Man Sik’s hopes of scoring a big win by cracking the high-profile “Golden Rabbit”;; case.
But Yoon Dong Joo isn’t one to back down. Determined to catch the hit-and-run suspect who literally dragged him through the mud—leaving his back covered in scrapes—he sets off with fierce resolve. “I think I can catch that guy,”;; he says with conviction. Just like the day he clinched Olympic gold, Dong Joo clenches his teeth around a mouthguard engraved with “JUSTICE”;; and charges forward—his confident grin signaling his relentless pursuit of what’s right.
The dynamic among the soon-to-be “Goodvengers”;; is another highlight. When Dong Joo excitedly tells Ji Han Na, “Starting today, I’ll be working at the police department—with you,”;; she coldly replies, “Not interested.”;; Meanwhile, internal affairs officer Kim Jong Hyun finds himself in an awkward reunion with Dong Joo—suggesting a love triangle may be brewing within the force.
The playful yet turbulent chemistry between Dong Joo and his reluctant mentor Go Man Sik adds more spice. Though Man Sik constantly yells, “Yoon Dong Joo, stay right there!”;; in frustration, he ends up kneeling before the regional investigation unit, pleading for help when Dong Joo faces a life-threatening crisis. Yet Dong Joo, unfazed, remains his cheerful and headstrong self.
The production team shared, “Yoon Dong Joo’s first day on the job will trigger a whirlwind of unpredictable incidents that will quickly heighten the characters’ emotional stakes and relationships. The premiere episode kicks off with intense action and an engaging plot that races ahead without pause. Starting this weekend, we hope viewers will enjoy a ‘good night’ every week with ‘Good Boy.’”;;
