Former Manchester City and Bayern Munich midfielder Owen Hargreaves has identified two key signings that Chelsea requires to secure victories in both the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League.

It's important to note that Chelsea finished in fourth place in the Premier League last season and did not compete in the Champions League.

During the summer transfer window, the Blues added several players, including Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.

Nevertheless, Hargreaves believes that Chelsea still needs a 'world-class goalkeeper' and an 'experienced centre-back' to contend for any major trophies this season.

“If Chelsea aims to win the Premier League and the Champions League, they must acquire a world-class keeper and an experienced centre-back,” Hargreaves stated in an interview with TNT Sports.

“For the centre-back position, a player like [PSG and Brazil legend] Marquinhos could greatly assist these young talents.”

This insight comes just before Chelsea's Premier League match against Liverpool on Saturday.
