Ajax manager, John Heitinga, has acknowledged Chelsea as one of the 'top teams' in the UEFA Champions League.

Heitinga made these remarks following his team's heavy defeat of 5-1 to the Blues in the Champions League at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

Notably, goals from Marc Guiu, Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez,
Estêvão, and Tyrique George secured the victory for the Premier League club based in west London against Ajax.

“This is one of the top teams, not just in the Premier League but also in the Champions League,” Heitinga stated during his post-match interview.

“It was a difficult result for us to accept, but that's how it goes.

“Our game plan was effective, and I believe it was challenging for them to penetrate our defense.

“We even had a promising offensive transition with Mika Godts. It was solid.”

Ajax's upcoming match is against Twente in the Eredivisie on Sunday.
