Transfer Talk: Giroud Reveals Two Key Signings Chelsea Should Pursue in January

Former Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud has pinpointed two key signings his old club should pursue during the January transfer window.

During an appearance on Sky Sports, Giroud emphasized that Chelsea should acquire a new striker and a center-back next month to bolster manager Enzo Maresca’s squad.

The French striker remarked, “He [Maresca] requires a striker who is reliable. He needs to identify a quality player.”

“A player who can score goals consistently each week. There is a lot of talent within the team, but I believe he might need more experience.”

“The squad is quite young. Perhaps he needs, or feels the need for, one or two additional players.”

“Possibly a center-back and a No. 9. However, I do have faith in Delap. If we allow him some time, I believe he can develop into the type of striker who can get the job done.”

Chelsea currently occupies the fourth position in the Premier League standings and will take on Newcastle United in their upcoming match this weekend.
