A 17-YEAR-OLD boy and two others have been arrested after a “terrifying” knife incident took place at a college, leading to the site being locked down.

The teenager was suspected of possessing an offensive weapon.

His home was then searched soon after the incident at Royal Leamington Spa College, on Tuesday afternoon.

Two other boys were also arrested on suspicion of violent disorder following an incident, while attended the scene.

Warwickshire Police described the shocking incident as “terrifying” for those involved.

They believe it was part of a disagreement, and assured that there is no wider threat to the community.

Thankfully, no-one was hurt and students have since returned to classes.

Chief Inspector Simon Ryan said: “This was clearly a terrifying incident for everyone concerned, and I would like to reassure people that we have taken prompt action to detain a suspect.”

The 17-year-old suspect was detained at his home.

The force initially responded to reports of a male with a weapon.

The two other arrests followed after a fight broke out while police attended the scene.
