SWITZERLAND benefited from a controversial decision in their World Cup opener against Qatar.
Remo Freuler got to a headed pass in the box before the onrushing Qatar keeper, popping the ball over his opponent before getting clattered.

The referee immediately pointed to the spot, but there were question marks over whether the Swiss star was in an offside position when the header was played through to him.
A replay was not conclusive, but it had many fans and even the commentary team convinced that the penalty was going to be chalked off by VAR.
Commentator Lee Dixon confidently exclaimed: “He’s offside, this won’t count.
“He just wandered enough, and the referee can’t see that so he points to the spot.”
But as confident as the former Arsenal defender was about his decision, the officials seemed to disagree.
Both stars involved in the collision remained on the floor, especially keeper Mahmud Abunada, who crashed head first into the attacker.
