Celtic captain, Callum McGregor is rooting for Kelechi Iheanacho to make a positive impact at the the club, DAILY POST reports.

Iheanacho joined the Scottish Premiership champions on a free transfer two weeks ago.

The Nigeria international comes in as a direct replacement for Adam Idah, who left Celtic Park for Sky Bet Championship club, Swansea City on deadline day.

The 28-year-old had a troubled stay with Sevilla in the first half of last season before he was loaned to Middlesbrough where he netted once in 15 league appearances.

McGregor, however, believed he will make instant impact at the club.

“We’ve added a top striker (Iheanacho), albeit he’s not played so much, but the early signs are good,” he told the club’s official website.
