Premier League Stadium Resembles a Construction Zone Just 24 Hours Before Home Opener, Key Features Still Unfinished

BOURNEMOUTH were scrambling yesterday to get their revamped Vitality Stadium ready for Saturday’s match with Everton.

Workers were busy applying the finishing touches to the smallest
stadium in the just 24 hours before their big home kick-off.

Large tarmac trucks were moving in and out of the main car park to repair the surface while lorries were lined up to apply white marking lines.

The club have erected 10-foot metal and wooden fences around the
stadium to keep spectators away .

Large concrete slabs, wooden crates and rubble have been bulldozed
behind the fences out of sight from the fans.

“No expense has been spared to get the stadium ready,” commented one
of many safety workers lining the perimeter of the stadium.

All this was happening while excited club officials were in Monaco
awaiting news of the team’s first-ever European draw.

The Cherries’ new German head coach Marco Rose took his first look at the
pitch and revamped stadium on Thursday – just two days before he walks
the team out for the first time.

Rose, who replaced in the summer, said: “We just came from training there and it looked really, really good.

“I like the place and the pitch is in perfect condition, so everything
is sorted to play the game on Saturday.”

Building work at the south coast club was delayed by two weeks by the local council planning department.

They have built two new corners to house 800 spectators which will be
completed early this new season.

New hospitality areas have been built, the media centre enlarged to
meet European regulations and the pitch has been raised.

Bournemouth will, in stages, be working to increase their stadium
capacity to over 22,000 by the summer of 2027.
