DOZENS of Crystal Palace supporters faced the nightmare dash to make kick-off after their train driver FORGOT to stop at Selhurst.

The South London outfit host tonight in their second Premier League game of the season.

However, dozens were forced to have delays to their travel plans after a train driver forgot to stop at Selhurst.

As a result, it meant it would take longer for them to reach the ground ahead of kick-off.

It is not clear if any supporters did in fact miss the start of the match due to the error by the driver.

Many vented their frustration on social media.

One posted: “The driver forgot to stop at Selhurst Park.”

A second wrote: “Was about to pull up at Selhurst and they’ve had to go past it due to some signalling issue and now stopping at Clapham instead. Southern Rail for you.”

A third commented: “Disgraceful stuff from Southern Rail the 18.45 from East Croydon not stopping at Selhurst.”

A fourth said: “No announcement. Nothing. Get this service back into public ownership asap.”

Another added: “What a time to forget a stop!”

Southern Rail are investigating the apparent error and have said that customers will be entitled to “delay repay” if the delay is 15 minutes or more.

SunSport have contacted Southern Rail for comment.

Palace started their season with a 2-0 defeat to at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

They found out their fixtures today and will face the likes of Real Sociedad, , Sparta Praha, RB Salzburg, , Besiktas, Lech Poznan and Jagiellonia Bialystok.

Man City came back from behind to beat Bournemouth in their opening game of the season.
