DARREN AMBROSE gave Spurs fans a fright after revealing Arsenal’s Robert Pires was one of his all-time favourites, despite being a Tottenham supporter himself.

And while playing for one club and supporting another is not out of the ordinary, naming a Gunner as a favourite while being a Spurs fan is.
Joining StevoTheMadman and Tim Sherwood in the GOAT studio, Ambrose admitted: “Mate… one of my favourite players is .
“And I am a Spurs supporter by the way.
“He was one of my favourite players when I was growing up.
“I used to try and emulate what he done. I didn’t want to say that.
But Ambrose jumped in to add: “He was not my favourite back then.”
Going through the rest of ‘s 2005/06 team, the side that secured a spot in the Champions League final, Ambrose opted to not pick favoured Pires.
He said: “You have (Freddie) Ljungberg. Then you got the full-back .”

After some prodding from Stevo, Ambrose said: “I’m going with Henry. No matter what.
“He’s the best player to play in the Premier League.”
Sherwood nodded in agreement, but Stevo was quick to interrupt.
He suggested: “In the midfield there, I’m seeing a midfield legend there in .”
Ambrose retold the tale of his showdown against the Spaniard in his U21 England days.
He said: “Fabregas was really young.
“He came on when it was 0-0 at half-time.
“He ran the game. Scored the winner.
“Unbelievable player.”
