In an interview with Truly , Taya explained that they are just like any other family, only with more members.
She stated: "I live with my husband and my boyfriend, along with my boyfriend’s wife, and together we have four happy children."
“We’re just a typical family like anyone else, just with more of us.”
Taya mentioned that they are fortunate to have two master bedrooms in their home, allowing Sean and Tyler to alternate rooms each night to balance their time with both women.
The two couples initially met when Tyler and Alysia started exploring their relationship, which eventually led to connections with Taya and Sean.
After some time, both families decided to cohabitate, and Alysia soon became pregnant with her third child, Barrett. Shortly thereafter, Taya discovered she was expecting as well.
Taya added: “We weren’t regulating who got pregnant; we were just trying overall.”
Sean revealed that none of them were concerned about determining who the biological father was for either child.
“We all agreed right away that we didn’t want to know who the dad was,” he explained. “It wasn’t significant to us; we’re raising them as our own, regardless of biological ties.”
Alysia initially felt apprehensive about not knowing who the father of her child was, worrying it might be difficult for her two older kids.
“At first, I was somewhat hesitant about not knowing who the fathers of Barrett or Carver were,” she admitted. “However, after discussing it with the other adults in our family, we realized we can have that conversation when it arises.”
The family has experienced mixed reactions regarding their unconventional relationship.
While some people are very supportive, others claim they could never handle such a lifestyle, admitting they would feel ‘jealous.’
In response to the critics, Sean stated: “We’re not trying to persuade anyone else to adopt this lifestyle; we simply want to share our choice.”
