The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bogoro LGA of Bauchi State, Amos Faruk, has declared that the party is bigger than any individual who may seek to muzzle or destroy it, regardless of the person’s status.

He expressed confidence that, despite the challenges the party is currently facing, it will emerge united and stronger and be the party to beat in the 2027 general elections in the country.

He made the declaration on Friday while addressing party leaders from wards across the LGA, as well as other supporters who escorted a 2027 aspirant for the State House of Assembly seat, Ishaku Madaki, to the party secretariat in solidarity.

According to him, β€œNo one individual can kill the PDP because it is far above such a person. The PDP has remained the only formidable political party in Nigeria since 1998, when party politics returned to the country.”

Amos Faruk added that if one takes stock, one would discover that the PDP remains intact and stronger despite the turbulence it has passed through, stressing that it has never shifted its stance since it was formed, even as many people have left and later returned.

The chairman added that in Bogoro, the PDP is far ahead of other political parties, saying that it has the largest membership and followership and is loved, admired, and supported by many.

He explained that they have been in the party since 1998 and have never moved an inch to any other political party, noting that even when they were out of power, they remained steadfast, and since 2019 have continued to remain in the party.

Speaking on the 2027 general elections, he expressed optimism that the PDP would present candidates for various elective positions in the LGA, the state and the country as a whole.

According to him, the PDP remains intact and the party to beat in 2027, adding that it will field candidates from the state to the federal level and will emerge victorious by the grace of God.

He urged all aspirants to go ahead and express their interests, assuring them that the PDP will be fair and just in ensuring that only the best among them emerge as candidates, as the process must reflect the collective wishes of the majority.

He stated that everything has its time and that opportunity can come to anyone at the appropriate moment, pointing out that people should join hands to elect the best among the aspirants for the good of the LGA.

The chairman, however, warned against politics of bitterness and thuggery, assuring that any aspirant who engages in such acts will not have the support of the PDP, regardless of his or her status.
