Telly star Paddy McGuinness and his ex-wife Christine are struggling to offload the £6.5million mansion they STILL live in a year after putting it on the market.

Christine, 37, and Paddy were married for over a decade before their shock split in 2022 and messy, bitter .

The former showbiz couple have previously told how they continue to to co-parent their three children – who are all on the autism spectrum.

But the real reason, according to an insider, is host and 2 presenter Paddy is refusing to drop the asking price despite having only a handful of viewings in 12 months.

There is a in the same upmarket Cheshire street for £1.5m less than Paddy’s pad.

The couple paid in 2020, and it has a gym, his and hers dressing-rooms, an orangery and seven bedrooms.

It also boasts a pool and a kids’ indoor soft-play space.

A source has revealed there is a glut of similar multi-million pound footballer-style houses for sale in the area that are also going unsold.

They added that despite the stagnant market, presenter Paddy was holding out for a loaded Premier League star to snap up the house and net them a £4m profit.

The Sun’s source said: “Paddy is refusing to drop the price and reckons that someone will come along and buy the place.

“He’s hanging on for a footballer with cash to burn so they can tot up a monster profit.

“But it is less than ideal that a slightly smaller house is on the market for £5m in the same street, and across Cheshire, there are houses of a similar size that have remained unsold for a couple of years.”

They added: “He really needs to bite the bullet and drop the price tag.”

Actor Paddy has but it seems he’s not ready to let go despite Christine being reportedly unhappy with the current living situation and wanting to move out.

Paddy has said the family’s living arrangement “doesn’t feel tricky”.

Meanwhile, Christine has said they “live on different floors” and neither “watch what each other does.”

She told Woman’s Own: “Obviously, Paddy and I are on separate floors and have separate rooms. So, my bedroom and dressing room is my little haven.”

Paddy and Christine married at Merseyside’s Thornton Manor Estate in June 2011 after meeting through a mutual friend in 2007 when Christine was 19 and Paddy was 33.

Their divorce was finalised in 2022 but he and Christine, still live in the Prestbury spread with their 12-year-old twins Leo and Penelope and daughter Felicity, nine.

And just days ago, model details about her latest “situationship”.

She said: “Before I started this situationship I’m in now, we were talking a lot and I was very aware that a lot of the stuff I was sharing that we had in common that it could potentially build a trauma bond because I’ve done it previously.

“That’s the last bond I’d like to build with someone because it’s almost toxic.”

Speaking about with autism, Christine previously confessed she worries for her kids too, who have also been diagnosed.

She explained: “I think about it a lot. I think about it for my children too. I have the same worries and thoughts [will they date].

“Are they going to be okay as they get older? For now, they are little so I don’t need to worry too much, but for me myself as an adult and being quite new to dating, I still struggle with it. I think I find myself explaining, but it helps if I explain and if I let somebody know that I’m autistic and might not be comfortable in a new restaurant or a bar I haven’t been to before.”

She added: “I find that now is absolutely necessary for me to say rather than to just go and be in a place that I don’t really like or don’t feel comfortable. If it’s too lively, if it’s too busy, then the date doesn’t go well. It’s kind of no really giving the date a chance if I’m not honest about what I do and don’t like.”

Christine did turn to show to find love last year but spectacularly quit halfway through the process.

She said at the time: “I’ve been thinking quite a lot while we’ve been in Ibiza and I think I need to date in more of a natural environment”.
