Governor Agbu Kefas on Tuesday delivered a stirring message of justice, inclusiveness and unity at the Taraba State Congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC), urging newly elected party executives to lead with fairness and integrity.

The congress, held at the Jolly Nyame Stadium, attracted hundreds of delegates, stakeholders and supporters from across the state. Addressing the gathering, Kefas charged the new leadership to ensure equal treatment for all members, stressing that unity remains the bedrock of the party’s strength.

“Justice and inclusiveness must be the foundation of your leadership,” the governor declared, adding that a cohesive structure would inspire trust and stability within the party.

The exercise concluded with the emergence of state executive officials through a voice vote, following a consensus agreement by 840 delegates representing the 168 wards of the state.

Members of the State Congress Committee, who presided over the process, confirmed that the method adopted was in accordance with the party’s constitution.

Observers described the congress as peaceful and orderly, noting that its smooth conduct signalled growing internal harmony within the APC in Taraba.

With attention gradually shifting to the 2027 general elections, Governor Kefas called on the new executives to intensify grassroots mobilisation and strategic engagement across the state.

He emphasised that internal cohesion would directly influence the party’s electoral prospects, urging the leadership to leave no stone unturned in expanding the APC’s support base.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected state chairman, Abubakar Bawa, pledged to run an open-door administration anchored on transparency and collaboration.

He assured members that the executive would work closely with stakeholders at all levels to strengthen unity and advance the party’s objectives.

Party faithful expressed optimism that the new leadership would consolidate the gains of the congress and position the APC for a more competitive outing in future elections.
