Osimhen to Liverpool: O’Rourke gives update with Nunez set to leave

Published on June 14, 2025 at 05:51 AM

Pete O’Rourke, a respected British journalist, has given a fresh update regarding Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen’s probable transfer move to Liverpool.

O’Rourke explained that the Nigeria striker is on the radar of some European clubs, including Liverpool.

According to him, this is coming after Osimhen’s proposed move to Saudi Arabia club Al-Hilal fell through this summer.

He added that the Premier League champions have been linked with the 26-year-old Super Eagles attacker as a potential target, especially if Darwin Nunez was to leave the Reds this summer, which seems more likely.

“Victor Osimhen is going into his final year at Napoli,”; O’Rourke told Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.

“Galatasaray would love to sign him on a permanent basis if possible and Napoli would prefer to cash in rather than let him run down his contract.

“Al-Hilal made numerous offers for Osimhen but it seems the player himself would prefer to stay in Europe.

“Liverpool have been linked with [Victor] Osimhen as a potential target, especially if Darwin Nunez was to leave this summer which seems more and more likely.”;
