NPFL warns clubs against betting activities

The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, has warned clubs against involvement in betting activities.

The league body stated that players or officials found violating the act will be severely dealt with.

The NPFL disclosed this in a memo signed by the Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi.

Part of the statement reads, “The NPFL wishes to remind all clubs, players and officials of the strict prohibition on betting activities in relation to NPFL matches, as per our regulation and in line with global best practices.”

The NPFL assured that they are committed to upholding fair play and transparency in the 2025–26 season.

The 2025–26 campaign will commence on Friday, 22nd August.
