Rivers United technical adviser Finidi George believes that his team is better placed to finish in a CAF Champions League spot at the end of the 2024-25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The Pride of Rivers occupy second position on the NPFL table with 61 points. Abia Warriors who are third on the log trail with one point.
Rivers United will square up with Nasarawa United in their final NPFL match of the season in Port Harcourt while Abia Warriors will battle with Ikorodu City in Lagos.
Finidi is adamant that his team will get the needed result in the game.
“We are still in a good place,”;; Finidi told Rivers United’s media.
“We have our last home match, and if we win that one, we will get that second place.”;;
NPFL champions Remo Stars and runners-up will take part in the CAF Champions League while the third placed team, alongside the Federation Cup winner, will participate in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
