Akwa United head coach, Kennedy Boboye, is optimistic his side will escape relegation at the end of the season.

The Promise Keepers occupy 18th position on the league table with 38 points from 34 matches.

Akwa United have registered 10 wins, eight draws and 16 defeats in this campaign.

Boboye said his team will capitalise on dropped points by their relegation-threatened rivals to achieve their objective.

“We will continue to find a solution to beat the drop,” Boboye stated after his team's win against Nasarawa United.

“We've been lucky that our key competitors have dropped points, which provides a solid base for us to pick up points at home.”

Akwa United will host Ikorodu City in a matchday 35 encounter this weekend.
