Former Premier League player and manager, Glenn Hoddle has described Arsenal midfielder, Declan Rice as ‘the most effective player’ in the Premier League.
Arsenal executed a second-half recovery to defeat Daniel Farke’s team 2-1 at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon.
Riccardo Calafiori equalized for his team to cancel out James Justin’s first goal before Bruno Guimaraes came off the bench to deliver the decisive goal with 20 minutes remaining in the match.
Rice started the fixture after having sat out England’s international break fixtures and demonstrated significant involvement in his team’s polished second objective, executing a backheel pass to Guimaraes who finished decisively.
“That represents the strength of Rice,” Hoddle said on Premier League Productions.
“In one instance he is clearing the ball on the line or at the edge of the penalty area, providing defensive salvation, and in the next he demonstrates technical proficiency when afforded the opportunity to operate with greater creative liberty.
“He executed an impressive technical maneuver on the byline where he feinted, moved inward and nearly found the back of the net.
“”For me, he’s the most effective player in the PL, he can do anything, he can play anywhere and he will give you a 9/10 every week. He is a very good player,” he added.
