Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has disclosed that he turned down an appointment offer from President Bola Tinubu, opting instead to concentrate on his personal life after years of public service.
Fayose made this announcement on Wednesday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, as reported by DAILY POST.
The member of the Peoples Democratic Party highlighted that, while he maintains a cordial relationship with Tinubu, it does not signify any political alliance.
“Have you seen me accepting an appointment from the APC? Asiwaju asked me, ‘What would we offer you?’ I replied, ‘Nothing, sir.’ At 65, I prefer to stay at home, being more responsible and engaging in other pursuits that I need to focus on. I’ve served well. I’ve been a two-time governor and have performed admirably. Tomorrow will take care of itself,” Fayose stated.
