Mum-of-eight, 66, mauled to death by bear as beast drags her out of bedroom window as her friend slept

A MUM-of-eight has been killed by a vicious bear after it dragged her from her bedroom window as she slept.

Lyudmila Prokofievna, 66, has become the latest victim in what residents are calling the deadliest summer for bear attacks in living memory at Krasnoyarsk region.

The woman was quietly dragged from her bed while her friend slept in the same room, reportedly completely unaware of the attack.

Her ravaged body was later found more than 50 ft from her rural home in Verkhniy Kebezh village.

Claw marks were chillingly found on the front of her house by investigators.

It is understood the murderous-bear returned to the scene the following day and was shot by hunters, local reports say.

The news of the deadly attack come just weeks after in separate vicious bear attacks just hours apart.

Krasnoyarsk was plunged into lockdown following the savagery.

Pensioners Galina Teterina, 73, and Zoya G, 67, had both gone out to pick mushrooms in Russia when they were ambushed by the animal.

It is believed the bear killed and buried Zoya before Galina came to the same spot just hours apart.

At the time, a local said: “Most likely, the predator was close by and, when Galina accidentally approached the spot, it attacked her too.

“She may have seen Zoya’s body or belongings in the forest, after which the animal mauled her.”

Russia has recorded around 20 bear attacks since the start of the year.

Bears are confirmed to have killed at least five people in Siberia over the past month alone, state media reported .

Russia’s Natural Resources and Environment Ministry said the countries brown bear population has more than doubled since 1990 and now stands at 307,000.

In August, a woman was dragged from her tent in the dead of night the day after she got engaged.

during a romantic trip in the Altai Mountains of in southern Siberia.

Snezhana and her groom-to-be were awoken to the beast tearing apart their tent before it “hauled the screaming woman away”.

It savagely killed the newly engaged woman before carrying her body across the Biya River to bury her.

A witness named Alina said: “It wouldn’t give her up and… dragged her across the river.”

“It’s horrific. Her boyfriend is in shock — he had only just proposed to her.”

Experts believe the increase sightings of bears at populated areas is primarily due to a lack of their primary food source – nuts, berries, and mushrooms.
